USIE T1 Pro Review – A Small Electric Scooter for the City

After testing large and very powerful electric scooters, it is easy to forget that not every model has to feel like a small rocket. Sometimes the biggest advantage is not raw power, but the fact that you can quickly fold the scooter, put it in the car, take it to the park or store it comfortably at home.

The USIE T1 Pro is exactly that kind of scooter. It is a compact urban electric scooter designed for short rides, commuting, shopping or weekend sightseeing. It does not try to be an off-road machine and it is not built for people who want to break speed records. It is meant to be simple, light, practical and reasonably affordable.

In this review, I check how the USIE T1 Pro performs in everyday use, what its real-world range looks like, how it handles city riding and whether it is worth buying if you are looking for a foldable electric scooter for around 250 EUR.

USIE T1 Pro Specifications and First Impressions

The USIE T1 Pro has a single motor mounted in the front wheel. Its maximum power is 350 W, and the top speed is around 30 km/h. The battery is based on 18650 cells, has 36 V and 10.4 Ah, and a full charge takes about 4 hours. The manufacturer declares a range of just over 20 kilometers, IP54 protection and a maximum load of up to 120 kilograms.

The scooter weighs a little over 13 kilograms, so it is much easier to carry than larger and more powerful models. You can fold it, put it in the trunk or store it in an apartment without much trouble. This is one of its biggest advantages.

Visually, we get a black frame with bright red accents. The red details include the seals around the cables and the edges of the tires. The wheels are 10 inches, the tires are quite narrow and puncture-resistant, and the frame is made of aluminum.

At the rear, there is a mechanical disc brake operated by a cable. When you release the throttle, the motor also supports braking. On paper, there are also two shock absorbers at the front and two at the rear, but I would treat them more as basic stabilization than real off-road suspension. They help with small urban bumps, but you will not be doing much forest riding on the T1 Pro.

The scooter arrives in the box mostly assembled, and putting it together did not cause any problems. The handlebar is quite small, and the display is integrated into the frame. It shows speed, one of three riding modes – Eco, Drive or Sport – lights, Bluetooth and battery level in the form of five bars.

Operation is simple. One button basically does everything: a single press turns the scooter on, holding it turns it off, a quick click changes riding modes, and a double click turns on the light. The display is readable, and there is not much to complain about here.

Lights and the Tuya Smart App

The rear light works very well. When you press the brake, a strong flashing light turns on, visible from a distance even on a sunny day. That is a big plus, because visibility in the city is very important.

The front light, unfortunately, is a much weaker point. It is there, but more so that others can see you. There is no beam angle adjustment, and by default it shines rather upward than onto the road. In the dark, I would not count on it to realistically illuminate the route. For night riding, I would add a separate lamp.

An interesting addition is the QR code near the display. It allows you to pair the scooter with the Tuya Smart app. In the app, you can lock the scooter as an anti-theft measure, remotely turn on the light, change the riding mode and, most importantly, configure the Eco, Drive and Sport modes.

By default, the modes differ in maximum speed, but you can adjust them to your needs. Of course, we are still talking about a 350 W motor, so there will be no miracles, but the option to adjust the parameters is very useful.

How Does the USIE T1 Pro Ride?

This was my biggest surprise. After testing much more powerful scooters, I was worried that the USIE T1 Pro would simply feel boring. It turned out, however, that riding it is surprisingly enjoyable.

What I like most is that the scooter is small and handy. You can fold it, put it in the car and take it to the other side of the city, to the park or for a short ride. You do not have to plan complicated logistics or fight with a lot of weight.

The controller is well tuned. Acceleration is predictable, even a bit sluggish, but in this case that is an advantage. The scooter does not jerk and gives a sense of control. It starts smoothly, which is simply comfortable for a light city scooter.

I enjoyed riding it most in the 18-22 km/h range. On a straight road, it can reach around 30 km/h, but with this construction I did not feel the need to ride at maximum speed all the time. It is a narrow, light scooter with a mechanical rear brake, so I would treat it as a device for efficient commuting rather than racing.

It performs best on even surfaces. Asphalt, paving stones, bike paths and park alleys are where the USIE T1 Pro feels good. The small shock absorbers help with minor bumps, but they are not designed for more serious terrain.

We also checked it in the forest: roots, packed dirt and some sand. Honestly, it handled more than I expected. Nothing fell off, the motor coped, and the construction survived. On sudden climbs, however, you had to help yourself with your foot.

It was similar when leaving an underground garage. On a steeper incline, the scooter becomes a bit of a hybrid: the motor helps, but your leg has to do some work too. This is where you can feel that 350 W is simply 350 W. It is enough for the city, but there is not much extra power reserve.

Real-World Range of the USIE T1 Pro

The manufacturer claims a range of just over 20 kilometers, and in some descriptions there is even mention of around 30 kilometers. I would approach this more cautiously.

If the rider weighs closer to 100 kilograms and rides at an average speed of around 20 km/h, I would realistically expect 15 to 20 kilometers. For short city routes, shopping, commuting or a recreational ride, that is enough. However, this is not a scooter for long trips.

In practice, the USIE T1 Pro is best treated as a scooter for everyday short rides. Its biggest advantage is not huge range, but light weight, simplicity and the ability to fold it quickly.

What I Did Not Like

The biggest downside is the front light. It shines too high and does not illuminate the road as it should. For riding after dark, it is worth buying an additional lamp, because the factory front light is more of a visibility feature than a practical road light.

The second issue is the mounting hardware. During assembly, the handlebar with the stem is placed onto the steering column. In my set, there were four screws: two shorter and two longer ones, with four identical holes. Tightening them harder started to bend the aluminum, which does not inspire much confidence.

In addition, the stem mount near the front fork loosened several times because of vibrations. The handlebar developed play, and at one point it was no longer straight in relation to the wheel. I had to adjust it again and tighten the screws.

This is annoying, and it is worth checking these elements after the first rides. It may also be a good idea to use threadlocker, as long as the manufacturer or service does not advise against it.

I also do not like the rear carrying handle. It is a simple metal clip that is difficult to grip with the whole hand. With a weight of over 13 kilograms, you quickly feel it digging into your fingers. Naturally, you would want to lift the scooter by the rear fender, but it is plastic and can be damaged. The manufacturer also warns not to stand on it.

USIE T1 Pro – Is It Worth Buying?

The USIE T1 Pro is a basic electric scooter for the city. It is not a power monster, it is not an off-road scooter and it is not designed for long routes. But as a light, foldable scooter for short rides, it makes sense.

It will work for commuting, quick shopping, park alleys or as a scooter that you can put in the car and take with you for the weekend. It feels best on even surfaces and at speeds around 20 km/h. Then it is predictable, comfortable and pleasant to ride.

The biggest advantages are its low weight, foldable design, readable display, app with riding mode configuration, strong rear brake light, stable kickstand and good handling on asphalt. The biggest downsides are the weak front light, average mounting elements, loosening handlebar, uncomfortable carrying handle and limited power on climbs.
